April news 2008
Wow! What a year. This winter season was the warmest I have seen. With the warm temperatures, the winds and seas were down too. The Triton was re powered in late March with Yamaha 4 strokes much to the DELIGHT of Sam and me. Sam now owns 50% of the boat so of course he is excited.
We are back to MI now for the summer season, but we will back to FL this coming November, see you all then. Take care!
March News 2008
The first of March and Traverse City resident Pat Burton caught a 80# Black Tip shark on a 15# light tackle outfit. The fight lasted 55 minutes and left the angler TIRED! Dean Rose, also from Michigan caught another Black Tip the next day. The animal could not be revived after the battle so we decided to harvest her. When we returned to the dock, we discovered the shark had been ready to birth 6 babies that were still alive in the womb. Sam was able to revive all 6 by moving them back and forth in the water to start them breathing on their own. They all swam away! I don't know of anyone who has witnessed that. Awesome!!
February News 2008
On February 1st, Cam and his fishing
friend, Petie Morales, set out targeting Shark. After catching
and releasing
a 6' Nurse Shark they caught and kept a 80 pound Black Tip. After
losing the largest Shark ever seen by both anglers, they went back
the next day. They hooked up a large Hammer Head. After an hour
battle they boated the 8 1/2' shark. Check out the photos!
We had some great trips with Eric and Lenny from Michigan. On the 9th we caught our limit of tasty Mangrove Snappers. Larry, also from MI, broke a sweat on some big sharks while fishing Florida Bay. The Miami Boat Show is this weekend and Sam and I never miss it. |
